Role Overview
This position will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary permits are obtained and maintained for the construction and operation of our Rook I Project. The role involves close collaboration with regulatory agencies, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations. The Permitting Coordinator will play a critical role in navigating the regulatory landscape, mitigating risks, and ensuring the timely progression of the project. The individual appointed to this position will report directly to the Surface Construction Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and timelines.
- Identify all necessary permits required for the construction, and operation of the mine.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to facilitate the permitting process and address any issues or concerns.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update the project team on potential impacts to the mine’s construction and operation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, consultants, and other stakeholders regarding permitting issues.
- Organize and attend meetings with regulatory agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders to discuss permitting requirements and progress.
- Maintain accurate records of all permit applications, correspondence, and approvals.
- Develop and implement permitting strategies to minimize delays and ensure timely project progression.
- Identify potential permitting risks and develop mitigations strategies.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in permitting or regulatory compliance, preferably within the uranium or mining sector.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to mange multiple priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
