Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Geologist and Exploration Manager, the Junior Geologist will contribute to drill programs across NexGen’s land claims with the objective of economic uranium discovery. The incumbent will participate and contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary team to plan and execute drill program(s) with a strong focus on health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in and supervise geological work including core logging, sample collection, and QA/QC to ensure exploration best practices.
- Interpretation and reporting of geological data, developing geological models, and working with the Exploration Team to advance project understanding.
- Planning drill hole locations and to effectively test targets as directed.
- Completing required weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Complete field work to ensure drill programs are conducted to high standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology is required.
- Experience in mineral exploration preferred.
- Strong understanding of geological software and databases (Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Geosoft, acQuire).
- Fluent computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications, (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience in working with a broad range of people.
- Comfortable working field rotations to support drill programs in remote locations.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and demonstrates safety leadership.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
