Role Overview
Location
The role will be based in our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Project Office with regular trips to the Project Site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all the engineering requirements for the Project, including all discipline engineering and managing the engineering service providers.
- Lead the engineering services team including in-depth review and approval of engineering service provider deliverables on behalf of NexGen including coordination of their work, tracking progress, and ensuring that objectives are met.
- Ensure that engineering is effectively integrated across various engineering providers.
- Interface and coordinate with all relevant NexGen stakeholders including the Compliance, Environmental, and Health & Safety teams.
- Coordinating to ensure that HAZOPs and operations and maintenance reviews are in the design.
- Establish requirements for the handover of technical deliverables to NexGen, in collaboration with the operations team.
- Provide timely review and response to RFI’s received by NexGen from the engineering consultants and other providers.
- Technical evaluation of proposals and tenders.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering. P.Eng is required and being a currently certified Qualified Person would be preferred.
- A minimum of 20 years of Engineering in Project Delivery experience.
- Strong experience managing engineering service providers in mega capital greenfield projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proficiency with engineering management systems including document controls.
