Role Overview
Location
This role is based in our Saskatoon, SK office, with occasional travel to the Rook I site as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop regulatory approval applications and review corresponding authorizations to systematically identify and track compliance commitments and conditions.
- Create and maintain permit, legal, and other requirements records within centralized digital databases (e.g., Cority, SharePoint) and flat file datasets (e.g., Excel Workbooks).
- Maintain a compliance calendar and track the status of actions to complete compliance actions both within the compliance team and as assigned to others.
- Assist with the preparation of audit and internal assurance assessment schedules, plans, and reports.
- Perform periodic evaluations of compliance with provincial and federal requirements, including participation in internal audits.
- Track and report on the status of corrective actions assigned to others to address findings from internal audits and assessments.
- Support the creation, and continual improvement, of standardized compliance management and quality assurances processes.
- Support the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual internal and external reports.
- Record and manage documentation associated with internal and external (e.g., regulatory) meetings, including the tracking, filing, and organization of regulatory correspondence.
- Support other administrative duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in permitting, compliance, or quality-related roles, with applicable experience within the mining or natural resources industry.
- Formal internal auditor training and certifications considered an asset.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory requirements applicable to the mining industry. Familiarity with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission requirements considered an asset.
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft 365 products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, One Drive, SharePoint, Power Point, etc.
- Intermediate skill level in database management systems, including the creation and maintenance of records. Experience with GIS software and mapping tools (e.g., ArcGIS) is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate in a dynamic work environment.
